Well Covers – Make a Feature of your Well

Cotswold Glazing are experts in supplying ‘walk-on’ glass for internal and external well covers and general floor glazing.

These are made to exceed the distributed and concentrated load requirements of current BS/EN standards. Typically, they have at least two thicknesses of toughened safety glass laminated together and can be supplied in any diameter although the maximum is generally 1200 mm. External well covers should sit within a rust-proofed metal frame, the lip of which can be flush with the finished floor level.

Before the well cover is fitted, it is important that a flexible air vent pipe be installed near the top of the well brickwork to minimise condensation due to variations in ambient temperature.

Internal well lighting should be by an ‘LED’ lamp mounted onto the internal brickwork and connected to the nearest mains supply.

Prices provided by telephone or email are subject to final measurement on site.

This glass well cover is above a flood-lit well, it is in a position where many people walk over it, so naturally the glass is specially toughened and scratch resistant. This glass well cover has been flush fitted in a parquet floor, this requires careful carpentary work in addition to ensuring a snug fit and seal.
